Stephen

Stephan’s Life Story:

Stephan had an unfortunate beginning. The youngest among six brothers, he became an orphan at an early age since he lost his mother even before he learned how to walk. His mother died in their small hut in Mathare in the dead of the night. When morning came, Stephan was found sleeping near his dead mother with hunger, innocence, and injury. Rats attacked his feet when he was sleeping and caused him to be disabled.

As a result, his brothers took care of Stephan throughout their street lives. Though everything happened, his soul never gave up. Fortunately, Stephan attended school with the assistance of some Catholic sisters.

Stephan’s deepest desire is to lead a peaceful life with his brothers on their own land located in Murang’a.

BRIAN OMEMA NAVUILE

Brian was born and brought up in Mathare slums. This boy’s life took a new turn when his mother, who was his sole guardian, went to bury a relative in their native place and never came back. Consequently, the young boy was forced to fend for himself among other boys on the streets and had to resort to sniffing glue to alleviate himself from stress.

Fortunately, Brian’s life took a positive turn when Zero Street staff members identified and rescued him. The organization is now helping him through our rescue and rehabilitation program. At present, Brian is a joyful and diligent pupil studying at Spring View Primary School in Kitengela.

In the future, Brian aims to become a politician and help those in need with his voice.

Your support can help Brian stay in school, access basic needs, and continue building a brighter future.

FREDY ANONDI CHILILI

Story of Fredy:
Fredy grew up in the Majengo slums of Nairobi. Fredy’s mum would beg for food from the street, pretending to have disabilities, involving Fredy and his brothers and sisters. This made Fredy absent from classes most of the time. Fredy ended up on the streets together with other boys.

Zero Street found Fredy and rescued him to change his life through our rehabilitation center. He is now a joyful learner at Spring View Primary School in Kitengela where he does well in both studies and character.

Fredy wishes to become a police officer when he grows up, protecting people and ensuring that there is no crime in his area.

Your donation will enable Fredy to be in school, acquire basic needs, and develop into an admirable young man in the future.

Your support can help Fredy stay in school, access basic needs, and grow into a responsible and caring young leader.

Bernard Lawi

Ben was brought up by a street mother in Pangani. In spite of all the hardships, Ben had been able to access education before. Regrettably, he had to leave school because of financial constraints regarding school fees and other basic requirements for survival in this challenging environment.

The Zero Street Children Foundation team managed to rescue him from the streets and give him a new lease of life via our rehabilitation center. He is currently on his way to recovery and looking forward to going back to school again.

Ben is an intelligent boy with dreams of a brighter future through education.

Your support can help Ben continue his education, receive care, and grow into the confident young man he is meant to be.
